Sound Medicine 101: Singing Bowls Workshop
Sound Medicine 101: Singing Bowls Workshop
Updated Date—-> Now on Saturday September 4th, 10am!!
In this online workshop you will be introduced to the therapeutic and healing methods of the singing bowls. We will cover the history, science, and musical applications of both the crystal bowls and Tibetan singing bowls.
The medicine of the bowls is to remind you of your own resonance. Healing with these sounds is a practice of listening deeply and slowing down. It is learning how to connect to sound vibrations which ultimately leads to a deeper connection with yourself and self awareness.
This workshop is appropriate for beginning players as well as those who are already playing the bowls. I offer new perspectives on playing techniques and we will also discuss issues of misinformation in sound healing as well as cultural appropriation. Whether you would like to learn about using these instruments for self care or for facilitating sound meditations, this is a great start or supplement to your practice.
You don’t need your own bowls to participate.
We will cover these areas:
Playing techniques
Musical theory of harmony
History of bowls
Science of sound
Mindful listening
Therapeutic playing
Cultural appropriation
Uncovering misinformation in sound healing
How to purchase and choose bowls
If you miss the Live class, I will record it so that you can watch the playback.
